The Task Force to Study Public School Facilities was authorized in June 2002 (Chapter 288, Acts of 2002). The Task Force will review, evaluate, and make recommendations on issues related to the State's school construction program.
The Task Force is to determine whether public school facilities can support programs proposed by the Commission on Education Finance, Equity, and Excellence in its final report of January 2002. The Task Force also will evaluate the equity of the State's school construction program, and how fairly governments share the costs for school construction projects. In addition, the Task Force will consider whether the Aging Schools Program should be continued.
